I’ve met quite a few Annika’s and they have all gone by Annie or Anna because they didn’t like their name. Reply Anikka Jan 12 at 12:40 am My name is spelled Anikka but pronounced like uh-Nee-ka but it is always mispronounced as Ann-ika with an emphasis on the A…..but I don’t find it very common in the city I in which is nice! But I feel it is a very empowering name & give us all a high standard to live up to! ? Reply Annika May 30 at 8:02 am Hey! I am Annika pronounced as unik. My name means the goddess durga. Who is an indian goddess and the very defination of strength grace and power in my culture. To me this name and its meaning makes me feel empowered and beautiful. Reply Annika Sep 16 at 9:18 am I love my name it gives me my strength to get me through life. Reply Momma Bean Dec 1 at 8:14 pm My two oldest kids were in the middle of a Pippi Longstocking unit study for our homeschool when we found out we were pregnant with our third child. We all have names that start with the letter “A”, and my oldest daughter was so fascinated by the characters, we all immediately fell in love with the name Annika. It is also perfect for our Scandinavian heritage. One thing we’re already finding is going to be a little frustrating throughout her life, she will forever be correcting the pronunciation. Many people are hesitant to say it at first, until they hear me say it, and then others will pronounce it uh-NEE-kuh. There are a few different pronunciations, as it just depends on cultural background. We’re going with ANN-ih-ka rather than AWN-ih-ka because we live in the south and I thought people would be more inclined to assume it’s ANN. Reply Annika Jul 20 at 5:42 pm My name is Annika! I pronounce it Ann-ika with an emphasis on the A though. I kinda like it and I’m one of the 772 named Annika my birth year! Reply Annika Oct 1 at 12:50 pm my name is anika Reply Misti Nov 5 at 5:28 am I have a sweet-faced Annika born in 2013. I still love the name, 6 years later. My first two have more common names and people still don’t know how to spell it (Simon, really? there’s no E in Simon. and Lily — it’s a flower, not very tricky). So I figured with my last, why not get a little different? She gets called A-nika sometimes, and sometimes she wants to be called Anika instead of Annika. Great name, stands out, and suits her wildness. Reply Ginny Aug 3 at 10:46 am I knew someone with that name but spelled differently and plus all my kid’s have different unique a name’s. My daughter prefers breast milk then formula and she smiles all the time and such a happy baby. Reply Ann Apr 13 at 12:12 pm I was named after my mom and wanted my daughter to be named after me, yet not exactly the same name. Someone I knew once nicknamed me Annika and I fell in love with it. It’s not super common. Reply Share your thoughts on the name Annika Cancel ReplyYour email address will not be published.
