  1. growing up I hated my name for one purpose- I could never find it on any keychains in those shops here in the uk(I still can’t) !! But now I’m older I feel as though it really suits me. I think my name is unique and quite elegant!

  2. I love my name, Elise, it’s just such a pretty name.

  3. A beautiful, classic name that goes well with her sisters names – Madeline and Adele

  4. My middle name is “elizabeth”, and Elise is just the French version of Elizabeth! Not to mention, such a beautiful and elegant name with rich biblical meaning. Elizabeth in the Bible was a mighty, God-fearing woman!

  5. So happy

  6. we chose this for my daughter bonnie’s middle name, from my FIL’s mother, elise or elisa. fits perfectly!

  7. Elise – This name is so beautiful to me. It’s a derivative of Elizabeth, my middle name. It’s also the name of Jane Seymour’s character in the movie, Somewhere In Time, a favorite movie of mine and my Mother’s. To me, this name evokes a sense of classic beauty and grace.

  8. We all have my husband’s Irish last name, so it was important to me that our baby have a French or Italian first name since that’s my family’s heritage. We didn’t know the sex of our baby so early in my pregnancy we downloaded a name app, kind of like Tinder for baby names, haha! My husband and I both liked Elise but we stopped discussing names since we wanted to meet our little one first (and we couldn’t agree on many contenders!). Once she was born, Elise seemed to fit her well and we like how it sounds with our last name. It also happened to be the name I used in French class in high school and we have a few Elises in our lives so those were great connections to the name for us.

  9. My husband named her after his favorite car: the Lotus Elise. I like that it is a diminutive of Elizabeth, and means “dedicated to God”. It is also a little old fashioned, and not too common.

  10. I love that Elise was a derivative of “pledged to God” ? We wanted a classic name that was beautiful and not that common in this day and age, so this was perfect!

  11. I knew I wanted my baby girls name to be Ellie. But my husband wanted her to have a more official name, he thought Ellie sounded like a nickname. So I started hunting for girl names that could easily have the nickname of Ellie.
I came across Elise and knew this was the one!
My moms name is Lisa, and my MIL’s name is Denise. Kinda flows along with both! I also love the Biblical meaning of Elise (God is my oath) and the fact that it’s more of a French name! (I’m obsessed with France :))
It was just the perfect fit for our crazy baby girl! And I can still call her Ellie 🙂

  12. It was my grandmother’s middle name and my hubby loves The Cure song, “A Letter to Elise.”

We can’t ever find trinkets with her name on it. Haha

Elise is an original, just like her name.
