  1. We named our Daughter Juniper “Lyric“. I actually just was watching this movie called missing. Her name was Juni, and was called Junebug throughout the movie…my wife was watching working moms earlier today there was a Juniper in the show. It irritated us both to hear that name just thrown around. Also Earlier today we went on Junipers first hike, she loved it. Anyways we passed by a field baseball park named Juniper. Sooo I decided to look at the name popularity coming in at 611. And it didn’t start showing up until the year 2000. My grandmother Ayako June Went by the name June bug. And oddly enough she died in the year 1999. It does really make me wonder. Why is this name Gaining popularity so quickly? I was trying to force this name onto my wife during the entire pregnancy until she finally said ” its grown on me… It is a beautiful name! I really enjoy hearing the name In a British accent also. Juneberry is my fave.

  4. We chose the name Juniper because we wanted a name honouring the natural world in some way and we also like the sound. We have a special place in our hearts for the environments where Juniper grows naturally. Our first pick was Sage and that name was given to our baby girl who was born still, the fact that Juniper and Sage grow together in many places was a factor as well. We love that Juniper can be Juni, June or June-bug.

  6. Our reasoning for choosing it as a name came from the juniper branches I picked on our farm to include in my wedding bouquet. The berries on juniper trees are my favorite shade of dusty blue and went beautifully with our outdoor wedding. Both my husband and I liked how unique the name was, while still being something common and easy to spell. We also like the nickname Juni which is what we end up calling her most of the time

  7. I’ve always loved the name Juniper since I was a young girl. The first time I heard the name was in the movie Bennie and Joon and I loved it! I also love that it has ties to nature. It’s different, but not so unique that it’s unheard of. We have gotten so many compliments on her name everywhere we go.

  14. We chose the name juniper because of the hardy tree that grows all of Utah. The berries help to feed a lot of animals and they are some of the oldest plants in the world. Juniper shortens well to Juni or June as well.

  15. My husband picked the name out originally & it wasn’t my favorite but it was the only one we agreed on so we kept it as our number 2 name while we looked for a “better” one. After our awesome natural birth, I saw this amazing baby on my chest & my husband and I both knew she was Juniper. Now our June bug is 7 months old and her name fits her more and more every single day. She’s so sweet & silly & has the bubbliest personality. Right now as I’m writing this she’s climbing all over me & laughing her head off. Juniper is beautiful and unique and a total goofball & I feel like her name represents her so well.
