Emery Name Meaning
A variant of Emmerich, Emery is a unisex name meaning “home strength.” In recent years, Emery has been shifting to lean more towards the girls, entering the Top 100 Girl Names for the first time in 2018.
Emery’s appealing sound is certainly her strongest attribute along with her styling. She serves as a modern spin on Emily, giving parents the Em- start they love and the adorable nickname Emmy without all the popularity. She also has surname vibes, another strong trend of today seen in Madison, Kennedy, and Avery. As if she wasn’t nailing enough trends, she’s also a nature name, as emery is a type of stone.
Emery is youthful to the ear, but we think she will age just fine in the age of Chloe, Kinsley, and Riley. A little Emery is sure to be rowdy, living true to her name. She’s always ready to slay imaginary dragons but will arrive in time for tea without any fuss. We love the spunk of this name and can’t wait to see more of it.
There are several variants of the name including Emory, Emerie, and Emmarie, though Emery remains the most popular. Some names similar to Emery’s style are Aubrey, Finley, and Oakley.

I chose it because it’s a unique name

Emery means strong. It’s unique but not very common

We named our daughter Emori. We spelled it with an -i- just like a girl being named Tony but spelled Toni or Bobby – Bobbi. She’s the only one with it spelled that way that we know of. She loves her name and we do too. She represents the name very well. She has lots of strength and is hardworking or it’s because she has to older brothers she has to survive. We think the name is beautiful and my husband’s mom is part German, so representation of her heritage as well.

We chose Emery as her name because this is my husband’s granddad’s name and great granddad’s name and his granddad was the most amazing, kind and loving man and we wanted him to have a namesake. Her middle name is Lyn which is mom’s middle name.
Monique
My husband and I really wanted a meaningful name. We looked through several books and when we came across the name Emery we saw it meant diligent/hard working leader! A very strong name that was also unique and adorable- we knew that was it

My name is Emery and I’m named after my father. I believe it’s a beautiful name for both female and male spelled two different ways identifying each one.. I have my name coming from both parents my mother is German and it’s her family’s last name, my father is native American and his name is spelled with the o as our tribal people States E m o r y is the male version and E m e r y is the female version.

I asked the Lord to help me. I got E and ended with “ily” or “Emily” while praying about it. I didn’t care for the name Emily though. So, I thought up a bunch of names and the only one my husband and I liked & agreed upon was Emery.
I don’t like that it’s a boys name.
Audrielle
We named our daughter “Emrey” (pronounced the way I spelled it as two syllables) I didn’t know one single boy with that name and the spelling being changed looked like the name Audrey and appears to be feminine to me. If God led you to a name he will help you pick just the perfect one.
Kelly
We have an Emery and you’ve described her exactly! She is also the younger sister of 2 boys, which might help contribute… but she is so full of life! Always ready for the next adventure, in her muddy pink dress, of course!

My husband and I decided to name our first born after the band Emery because they have a song that is our song and we wanted her to have a name that meant something to us!
Andrea Cornwell
We named our daughter Emery after the band also.

I named my girl Emery for the same reason….and middle name Britain for Elliott Smith’s famed “Baby Britain,” which is my favorite song by him….

Curious which song? My wife and I are looking to name our child Emery and love their music as well. Thanks
